Never adjust your watch time during these 6 hours

I rarely find press releases interesting, let alone useful. However, sometimes you find a nugget. Here’s one of those rare cases. This is from a Tourneau article about daylight savings. Terry Irby, Tourneau’s chief “watch doctor,” warns:

  • Never change a watch during the hours of 9p.m. and 3a.m. During this time, the watch gears are engaged to change the calendar, so changing the time can easily cause breakage.

I’d never heard that before, but it makes perfect sense. Thank you, doc Irby!

While you’re here, learn more about how the esteemed Irby is helping “at risk youth” learn mission critical life skills through watchmaker craft.

Bravo. How can we help?

Full press release.
